User Experience for Shared Shelf

 

Part of my role, as Interaction Designer at Artstor, was to create use cases and wireframes according to user needs, research, and competitive analyses.

Sample use cases and wireframes are from various projects including Artstor's cataloguing system and the administrative system for institutional-wide settings.

Selected Use Cases

SUMMARy

  • To manage image collections
  • To have an overview area of all publishing targets
  • To allow users to create new collections or links to external collections, or to delete them.
  • To allow users to edit configurations. To allow users to add/remove projects from existing collections.
 
 

USER PREREQUISITES

  1. User has access to the Shared Shelf Admin site.
  2. User is an institutional admin.

OVERVIEW OF ADDING COLLECTIONS

  1. User logs into Shared Shelf Admin.
  2. User switches from the default "Projects Settings" tab to the "Collection Settings" tab.
  3. User clicks the “New Collection” button to create a new collection.
  4. User creates a new collection.
 
 

ADDING A NEW COLLECTION

  1. User logs into Shared Shelf Admin, and switches from the Project Settings panel to the Collection Settings panel.
  2. User clicks the “New Collection” dropdown button at the top of the Collections Settings panel.
  3. User selects the type of publishing target from the dropdown menu. A popup appears. User fills in fields. See wires on the left.
  4. User clicks “Confirm”, and the new collection has been created.

EDITING AN EXISTING COLLECTION

  1. User logs into Shared Shelf Admin, and switches from the Project Settings panel to the Collection Settings panel.
  2. User selects an existing collection and clicks the “Edit Target” button. See wires on the left.
  3. A popup appears. User makes changes.
  4. User clicks “Confirm” and the changes have been applied.

This screen shows the login page for Shared Shelf. The user can access the Home Tab by logging in.

The user has logged into Shared Shelf and is viewing the Home Tab. There are six main sections that can accessed by clicking the respective icons.

Opens the project asset panel tab.

Opens the search works tab.

Opens the lists panel tab.
